'Eiterquellen' is an ongoing project about Viennese Wurstel Diners and the little different Viennese fast-food culture. Most of the time these diners are isolated islands of food supply in an ancient surrounding with a dash of cultural heritage. Isolated both in the sense of appearance as well as in the sense of resisting against global operating fast-food chains. But the 'improper' and modern their architecture may appear, the much heritage there is behind the scenes. Viennese wurstel diners have been introduced during the Austro-Hungarian "K.u.K." Monarchy around 1870 to provide a safe income for wounded war veterans. Since then they became an essential part of the urban culture not by only supplying snacks but also being a meeting spot of the distinctive Viennese working class and the high society, too.

Lucy Carr-Ellison’s images frame the provocative lure a youthful spirit has to offer with emphasis on fashion and feeling. Her priority as a photographer is to create an entire character in his or her natural setting through deliberate choices in location, wardrobe, and props. With film as Carr-Ellison’s medium of preference, the photographs mirror the high degree of honesty and ease she values in real life.

LINN SCHRÖDER / PORTFOLIO

Linn Schröder lives and works in Hamburg and Berlin. She graduated in communication design/photography from the University of Applied Studies / HAW, Hamburg, in 2004, and in visual communication from the University of Fine Arts / HfbK, Hamburg, in 2006. She took courses at the Photography Department of the Zurich University of the Arts / ZHdK in 2005. Linn Schröder is a member of Ostkreuz – Photographers Agency in Berlin since 2004. She had teaching assignments at the Weißensee School of Art, Berlin, and the Ostkreuz – School for Photography, Berlin.

Tobias Kruse studied photography at »Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie« with Prof. Ute Mahler 2005–2007. Masterclass of Prof. Arno Fischer 2008–2009. Tobias Kruse lives in Berlin. Junior member of agency Ostkreuz since march 2011.
