09 February 2012

Although currently living in Montreal, Véronique Meignaud was born in France in 1984. After two years of training in illustration and design at the Ecole Emile Cohl in Lyon, she has worked for a number of gaming studios including: Electronic Arts, Etranges Libellules, and Darkworks. She has also worked in the fashion industry for Nike and Marc Eko. Her series of playing card illustrations for Magic: The Gathering for Wizards of the Coast has brought her international acclaim.

Véronique is constantly experimenting with new ideas and mediums. She moves with ease from pencil drawings to digital creation. She is fascinated by organic and mineral images. These vast worlds shape her art on a variety of levels and are the source of her unique oeuvre.

Her work is frequently shown in exhibitions across Europe, North America, and Japan. She participates in workshops and live art shows, and created a video tutorial for aspiring artists. She also

experiments in web design and regularly organizes life drawing sessions with her friends and colleagues.

Véronique's art is like a beast that feeds on enormous amounts of just about everything; photography, architecture and fashion design are only a small part of its omnivorous diet.
