Numskull is an Australian based artist, working out of Sydney in a variety of fields. His work spans across painting, sculpture, illustration and outdoor murals. Since the late 90s Numskull has been a part of the graffiti and street art movements, in which he has made his mark as both a contributor and curator. Having grown up in Sydney's slow paced northern suburbs, graffiti was his outlet which at a point took him along another path to explore some of the influences and techniques he now embraces as his own. Skateboarding, comic art, sign-painting and street artwork.
Today, much of Numskull's work is based around colour and it's hierarchy and importance, typography, signage and it's meaning to the individual, heroism in people and in false idols, weirdoism and the people and situations in which Numskull finds himself. His style and practice is constantly evolving with his continuing mission to always develop and explore.
Having no formal art education or training, Numskull has always been self-taught or taught by his peers and co-creators.
As a part of his creative practice, often Numskull engages with brands and independent labels to create art based projects. He has worked with Globe, Endeavor Snowboards, Red Bull, Grand Scheme, Mishka NYC and more.
He has shown in galleries, painted walls and sold paintings throughout the world in such places as London, America, Tokyo, Paris, Singapore, Amsterdam, Hong Kong and all over Australia.
