Who´s the first artist/photographer that comes to your mind first?

Tim Walker

Tell us a little bit about yourself, where do you come from and where is your journey going to?

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by fairy tales and children's stories, fantasy lands and other times.  When I was younger, my mother was always reading obscure children's stories with wonderful illustrations to me and my sisters and always encouraged us artistically.  Growing up with four sisters made dress up a big thing in my house!  So when I first started photography in school - I rarely wanted to go out and just walk around and shoot the real world, I was always setting up little narrative scenes with my sisters and their friends.  This process became more formalized when I began my self portrait series and subsequently the same process created my commercial work.  Not sure about the journey but that is the exciting part....

How would you describe your style?

Whimsical and romantic with a touch of the bizarre.

Your house is on fire, what do you save?

My taxidermy animals, vintage pieces and art collection?

Something you want the world to know about you?

My favorite animal is the giraffe

Tell us a song that has haunted you.

Azure Ray's "Displaced"

What keeps you motivated and inspires you go to on every day?

I think all people have a deep rooted desire to express their feelings, ideas and connect with others, photography allows me to articulate my thoughts visually and make my own little world exactly the way I want it.

What did you want to be with 13?

A mermaid

How have you handled the business side of being an artist?

I am lucky enough to have a strong network of experienced colleagues that have helped me navigate the business side of being an artist...  I  also try to be as organized as possible.

What can we accept from you in 2012, any concrete plans?

I am most excited about my book project for the Millbrook School on their Taxidermy Animal collection which hopefully be done by fall and coupled with a traveling exhibition of the images.

I will be teaching workshops in Dubai, Norway and New York.

And I have lots of other top secret projects in the works so you will have to stay posted!
